On June 12, 2013 The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage welcomed choreographer and iLAND founder Jennifer Monson, who moderated our first-ever all-day listening session. This multidisciplinary event was a collaborative investigation into compositional forms from the world around us: the intersection of music, dance, technology, and the environment.
In the morning, Monson led an embodied listening session: a guided “sound walk” from the Center to the rooftop garden across the street at the Curtis Institute of Music. This sound walk was an opportunity to fully take in the urban experience of sound as perceived through the conduit of the body.
