oh that was so clearly ;-) such an manual focus is just possible with dslr i think! of course it is also possible witch expensive film-cameras, but we all know that they are not cheap ;-)
Hey Nicolai, thanks for your answer (to Florian too). Just one more question if I may...
Which compression format you used to prepare video for Vimeo upload? I'm guessing H.264 (I love it), but what I'm more interested in, what was your frame rate? 30 fps or 29.97 fps? I have my Samsung high definition camcorder (I am so happy with it) and I shoot all my videos at 60 fps (in case I need some nice slow motion sometime in the future). I guess if I upload my videos at 60 fps, Vimeo will not play them as smooth as they are playing on my local machine. I believe I have to encode them using one of those two - 30 or 29.97 fps. I've seen a lot of very, very choppy videos that are otherwise super hi quality, so I am sure it's not those videos... it's how Vimeo plays them. Also, I've seen some super smooth playing videos, so I'm wondering what would be the best setting for compression/encoding to prepare them for Vimeo upload.
I read somewhere that vimeo converts clips to 24fps, which I guess is why you might see some clips that's choppy???
For this one I re-timed the clips to 24fps with Cinema Tools in Final Cut Suite and then used Compressor with the setting recommended on vimeo. Do a search of 'vimeo encoding' and I'm sure you can find the setting for your tools too.
Thanks again
Thanks Nicolai. Well, this is what I did not know. I always thought Vimeo wouldn't go below 29.97 fps (standard for NTSC), but obviously they went for 24 which is standard for PAL.
I am all After Effects, so I guess I'll start doing what you did... VideoCopilot FPS converter preset will help a lot in this case.
love a constant refocus idea. I have to admit, I was going to ask wtf with the focus on Your other 5x5 clips (af??), but forget it. This one wins the show ;)

What's the camera you used ? I like the way you used manual focus, simply amazing.

Again, great work, keep it up!
