The recent revelations of the PRISM program in the United States have stoked the fires of debate on privacy in the 21st century with US spy agencies data mining our communications and online data under the name of national security. There are also implications for other countries with governments sharing this data where there interests are mutual. Steve and Ben discuss the issues involved with PRISM, including questions on whether or not we’ve arrived at an Orwellian future, whether or not governments are really interested in knowing everything about us, or should we be more worried about criminal elements and their extensive hacking abilities and the tech giants who we trust to protect our personal data in the cloud.
