“Metamorph-This!” REmida Day 2013 (presented by Act Belong Commit & REmida WA): a vibrant day of transformative fun & spontaneous sculpture. Held annually by the international REmida Network, REmida Days around the world celebrate the infinite possibilities of creative reuse. All “Metamorph-This!” activites use the discards & scraps of local industry as materials, collected for reuse by REmida WA (remidawa.com).
This video was created entirely using open-source/freeware software. The 2-D animated sequences were generated in Synfig Studio using poster artwork by Sean E. Avery. All video was stabilised using Gunnar Thalin's Deshaker plugin in VirtualDub. The time-lapse footage was captured on Canon A3200IS cameras running the CHDK intervalometer script. It was then compiled and edited in KDenlive. Photos of the finished sculptures were edited and cut out using the GIMP Animation Plugin (GAP). The resulting footage was smoothed in Simon Eugster's SlowmoVideo program. The morphing sequences were made using WinMorph and the titles were created in Inkscape.
