Sidecars go well in the snow and ice. You can see how I use my weight, leaning over the bars to get weight on the front wheel for turning, moving back, sometimes using the passenger pegs to get more weight on the rear wheels for traction to start off or climb grades.
The bike is a Kawasaki KLR 650 with a Kenda K270 rear tire and a Cheng Shin Trials front tire. The sidecar is a homebuilt of my own design. We use these rigs in the Adventure Sidecar S/TEP classes and tours.
A Panasonic palmcorder mounted on a boom recorded video to a mini-dv tape; the point of veiw shots were done with an Oregon Scientific ATC2000 on a RAM mount attached to my helmet, recording to a 2 gig SD card
