Looks very artistic but could you do something about that camera shake, it gives an instant headache ;-)
  • Remyyy 4 months ago
ahah, sorry about that. I didn't find for the moment a very simple way to fix the shoebox with the camera. So I have in one hand the camera, in the other, the shoebox. (adding maybe some wind) I have to work on that. Thanks !
  • w.pasman 4 months ago
Did you try a bit of sticky tape or a simple extension to your shoebox? You could also try to fix a stiff plate (wood or so) to the bottom of the camera using the mounting hole and a screw, and then put the shoe box on that plate. I think it would greatly improve the technical aspects of your videos!
  • Remyyy 4 months ago
Tape wouldn't work, I mean, without being too complicate to remove, add, remove, add. For the "stiff plate", the problem is that the bottom of the camera isn't at the same height that the shoebox but that's definitely how it needs to be fixed. Just need some time to make it simple to add/remove. But thanks a lot for your ideas, really appreciate.
  • Javed 4 months ago
You could place your camera very close to the hole in the shoebox, then from the inside, screw a step-up ring to the camera's filter thread through the hole in the shoebox. Then you could just tape the step-up ring to the inside of the shoebox, and you just need to unscrew or screw the whole thing every time you want to use/not use the shoebox, and wouldn't need to remove the sticky tape.
  • Remyyy 4 months ago
This could be a good idea. I'll have to try that. The only thing could be the fact that the box will be maybe hard to stay in line with the center of the tracing paper. But I'm just guessing, thank to you too. World brainstorming, ahah !!
  • w.pasman 4 months ago
Yes good idea but you will need to reinforce the shoe box to keep it from bending. Or maybe replace it with a plywood box

The look reminded me a lot of a lens adapter with the ground glass not spinning, but then I saw the pictures on the side, illustrating how you achieved the look. Gotta hand it to you, Remmy. Beautiful, wildly inventive work. I would've never given a shoebox a second thought.
