On September 20, 2009, the Loyola Academy community joined together for a Mass of Thanksgiving, celebrating the school's centennial and the installation of its eighth president, Rev. Patrick E. McGrath, S.J. On this very day 100 years ago, Loyola welcomed its first class of 88 Ramblers. Today, Loyola is the nation's largest Jesuit college preparatory school, with 2,000 students enrolled annually and a global network of 25,000 alumni. Under the leadership and inspiration of Fr. McGrath, Loyola Academy continues to nurture the hearts, minds and spirits of a diverse population of young people in its second century--all for the greater glory of God.
