This new game asks the learner to make choices for two families with different backgrounds. By manipulating each family’s life they can start to see the impact this has on their overall wellbeing. This is visualised as a spidergram to show a before/after effect. As the learner makes decisions the story unfolds to display a visual journey that can be referred back to. A simple branching structure enables the learner to see the outcome of their decisions.
At the end of the interaction, the learner gets a summary of all of the decisions they made, with expert feedback.
The whole interaction is controlled via a content management system, enabling staff at The Open University to add in new sequences or journeys in-house.
