Gloria Steinem spent the day on the Tulane campus on March 6, 2008 as a Newcomb College Institute Powerhouse Speaker.

At 4 pm that afternoon, she participated in a teatime question and answer session with students. Here she addresses the topic "women and the media."

In this piece, Tulane Associate Professor of English Rebecca Mark, Founding Interim Executive Director of the Newcomb College Institute (2006-2008), opens the session with a question to Gloria about women and media, and explains why media is an integrated part of the Newcomb mission to educate women for the 21st Century.
