Oleg, are you happy with Sony HDR-500V? I heard it is great for low light conditions and optical stabilization.

May I wonder if you miss some manual features (e.g CX500V lacks numerous manual controls—like aperture and shutter speed—that are commonplace on most high-end camcorders)

Yes Sony HDR-CX 500v is pretty good in low light and stabilization works very well. On the manual controls: I got this camera for its size and the ease of use. Its great for everyday stuff like family functions and such. I would like to get more into the video in the near future, for now I am just playing around.

Hey! Great video! How did you move the camera so smooth? Was that built in stabilization with your movement skills, or was it some sort of steadycam device? Thanks! (Looking to get this camera in a couple days!)

Also- which wide-conversion filter did you buy!?

Thanks. I did use a steadycam for some shots, but the built in stabilizer is pretty amazing. for the wide shots I used Optika .3x HD adapter. I am actually selling the whole set up to hopefully get a Nikon D300s. I also have a 35 mm adapter for this camera.
