The Indonesian Fashion Forward Programme is a three year partnership programme between British Council, Jakarta Fashion Week, and the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, whereby we commission London's Centre of Fashion Enterprise to conduct business skills development and capacity building to a group of local young emerging design talents.
From 13 - 15 May 2013, the IFF programme welcomes once again the UK fashion consultants from CFE: Wendy Malem, Angela Quaintrell, Toby Meadows, Sanjeev Davidson as well as Demelza Galica. Each expert provides a unique business skill within the fashion industry value chain. On Monday, 13 May 2013, CFE delivered a seminar on "Developing your Fashion Label" to a large audience in the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy auditorium. The seminar was followed by a press conference that was attended by H.E Dr. Mari Elka Pangestu, the Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy. For the next two days, the CFE consultants delivered a one-on-one coaching session with each design team that was categorized into Branding & Pricing and Distribution & Sales.
This year, the IFF programme includes a range of different Indonesian design talents, from high-end luxury designers, ready-to-wear, muslimwear and even accessories. The designers in this batch includes Tex Saverio, Friedrich Herman, Vinora Ng, TOTON, Nefertiti (NFRT), Monday to Sunday, 8Eri, MILCAH, Nur Zahra, Jenahara, Lianna Gunawan (La Spina), and Novita Yunus (Batik Chic).
The designers will continue to receive digital mentoring and coaching until CFE's next visit in October 2013 during Jakarta Fashion Week 2014.
