Lost Lake in the Mount Hood National Forest is a jewel for many but for Jeff Springer it is the most important place in the world. The lake brought him back to what is real in his life and he thinks it can do the same for others. Indians once called the lake, Heart of The Mountains and Springer says he knows why.
My friend and Colleague at The Oregonian, Ally Milligan, got a small taste of what Springer feels while we were doing this piece. Both of us are eager to return.
