Stunning !!! Ever thought of doing this but shooting a big heavy horse event, You will have so many characters to look at including the horses & shot in the same light as this it would look amazing. :-)) just a thought.

  • Eugenia Loli plus 2 years ago
Nice, but I found the footage over-contrasty. Please read Prolost's article about how to set up the 5D to shoot flat, so you can color grade better.
  • Ludovic Jolivet plus 2 years ago
I think Leonardo is making a conscious choice of really contrasty, dark image, crushed black in most of his movies (both with EX1 and 5D)... I felt the same way as you Eugenia, the footage felt too contrasty to me at first, but after looking at all Leonardo's film, I felt like somehow it made sense to me... maybe I got use to it?
I would be curious to see a version with less contrast... anyway I came to enjoy very much Leonardo's work.
  • Bellographix 2 years ago
There's Eugenia again making comments about contrast!
  • Eugenia Loli plus 2 years ago
Sure I do, that's why there's a comment section, for feedback.

I had my doubts when I saw the cinemascope letterbox but you have used the format superbly. Beautifully shot and with direct head-on shots that most of us shy away from.
    Stunning stuff.
  •
  • Dan Huston 2 years ago
Bravo! Ciò era meravigliosa come sempre!

Il senso che usate la luce per aiutarli a raccontare la storia è meraviglioso nel mio parere umile. Perdoni il mio italiano. Sto imparando appena.

Sono in disaccordo con il di commento - "sopra contrasty"...hehehe..

  • Hans de Jonge 2 years ago
bellissimo! beautiful grading though a bit dark sometimes, but on the other hand: that gives it its charachter. Keep up the good work!
  •
  • Ludovic Jolivet plus 2 years ago
I find all your movies have a quite dark image and really crushed blacks... I'm sure it's a conscious aesthetic choice from your part but it took me quite some getting use to it... at the end I came to appreciate this quality and I really enjoy your work.
    Thank you.
