This ensemble piece was commissioned by the Grassi Museum für Völkerkunde zu Leipzig. It was performed at the opening of the "KALLAWAYA - the art of healing" show Dec. 2010. The name "paypa" refers to the correspondent dusk ghosts that can steel ones little soul by spooking around. It pictures this loss and the following healing ceremony. The kallawaya helps the patient to pay his debt to the gods. All musical material was generated from a traditional ritual chant. The video serves as stage setting and takes over the conductors part (the flashes give impulses). It's a reference to the wind, the messenger of the gods.
