2. Cambodia Quick Clips
This is from a documentary video shoot For Heifer Foundation we have been on in the remote regions of Cambodia. From the capitol, Veal Veang is a near 10-hour journey by 4WD truck on virtually impassable roads. Few NGOs will work with the people in this region, because this was the last and most fiercely held territory of the Khmer Rouge. We were told that fear and prejudice keeps many out of this community. We met and interviewed former Generals, foot soldiers and some Khmer Rouge fighters we found hiding in remote villages in the jungle.

For many we met, we were the only Americans they had ever seen in person - but they told us they knew America was a beautiful place. It will take years to unravel the atrocities from the genocide and decades of civil unrest. The wounds here are very fresh and their livelihoods are fragile - but there is a sense of hope. Heifer International is playing a small part in that hope. A former high-ranking officer in the KR said it best: "I fought for freedom for my people, but I didn't really know what true freedom was."

This is just a collection of some raw clips from our last day in Veal Veang. I think it's an accurate thumbnail of the many people and places we visited. Enjoy.
