In 2012 and 2013 a controversial law played a central
role in several conflicting verdicts in the state of Florida.
As a result, the cases in question and its participants
became subjects of nationwide scrutiny and debate.
The following short film is an attempt to provide
perspective to the outcome of a particular case
which many contend highlights
flaws in the United States criminal justice system.
While the intent of this film is
not to endorse a particular verdict,
its purpose is an effort to encourage its audience to
discuss ways to improve the laws that govern the people.
