Reminds me of my daughter, also at four. We were VERY sparing with the candy-eating. We hadn't even unpacked from a move to a new city many states away. On this very street to which we'd moved, they celebrate Halloween in a BIG way, very elaborate and classily done. So, some musician friends took her out for us; but we'd arrived into town rather late from the lonnnng drive. When my little one returned from this truly spectacular walk into the length of this creatively adorned avenue, most of the homeowners had gone back into their tall, Parisian-type homes, to sleep, perchance to dream. My cheery one had returned, beaming, hand outstretched toward me, palms up. "Look, Mamma, I got TWO candies!" Any other child in America would have despaired at not having a bulging bag of loot. Not mine! "TWO!" I gasped--"You got--TWO?!" So, Capucine's hushed "four is a LOT" instantly returned me back to that oh so Moving Night. (Indeed it was!)

Four IS a lot, ma p'tite. De temps en temps, c'est trop, mais aussi, peut etre c'est parfait...comme toi. (Mais-- shhh...c'est un secret! Seulement--avec toi, et Maman, et moi--nous trois le savons, eh? Pas personne autre...shhhhhhh....eh, dit a UN chat aussi, d'accord? Mais pas plus! Les chats, ils parlent "MEOOWW" a tout le monde...quand la lune est ronde et brillante, "Meoowww--Capucine as QUATRE bon-bons--allons, comrades, et manger les bon-bons, vite!!")

That's the beauty of that gerbil-wheel of a mind of hers. It's always spinning--you can see it is well on its way toward the next thought, if you watch her eyes. TIKAITKAITKA. Scurrying off to the next spaces well ahead of us. NOTHING is lost on this child. She's sharp as a tack. If you other three there don't start arming yourselves, I warn you--you are going to be held hostage for the rest of your days. (The way WE are now!) She is THAT disarmingly charming, this little Treasure of France.

hahaha aaaw Arnold I love your story ! I can relate to Marylin for the love of strawberries, I think they're my favorite fruit, with raspberries. I could walk miles for raspberries and strawberries. I'm not sure I would be as honest as Marylin if I had eaten two punnets all by myself hahaha.

(the strawberries in the movie were not fruit, but candy strawberries, they're called "Tagada". Strawberry fruit season has not started yet, we already have some coming from Marocco but they're not the best, I can't wait for the french strawberries to arrive !
