I'm a huge fan of you work. I also live in Seattle and am a student at UW. I was wondering with your capturing do you use HDV 1440x1080 then convert to 1920x1080? I use Final Cut Studio 2 and have been debating whether to use HDV to edit then at the end convert to prores for CC or go to prores raster 1920 and edit from there (huge files). Was wondering what you use. Beautiful work.

I want to second Arzhang's question about doing HDV timelines vs. full 1080p timelines after upconverting HDV footage (Compressor?). Thoughts?

I capture using Premiere Pro and Cineform AspectHD to create AVIs. I stick to the 1440x1080 timeline.

If I am selling stock footage, for instance, I will convert it to a full raster 1920x1080 because they require the full HD size.

the way you are rolling, you wont need the RED cam, you inspire me to make my films more visually interesting, i just bought the same setup, canon xha1, letus35 extreme, keep up the great work steven
