In 1979 Olivett Robinson opened the first of 7 "Mantrap" Nail and Hair Salons with Charlie Vo, a Vietnamese war refugee and one of the very first Vietnamese Nail Techs in the US. The Nail industry has reached 7.5 billion in the US alone, with Vietnamese controlling a good deal of the trade. Clearly I need some killer archival photographs to illustrate this unique time and space in 1980's Southern California - COMING SOON!
