You might wonder what a good progress number to shoot for on a monthly basis with for your child. The answer to that is really not cut and dry and you should ALWAYS talk to your child’s PA Virtual teacher for advice if you need it, but here is a general rule of thumb.
There are about 9.5 months in the school year - we start at the very end of August each school year and continue through to a couple weeks into June. If you focus on completing about 10-12% of each course each month, then you will have the courses completed by the end of the school year. Be easy on yourself the first month....you have to get used to everything and so does your child! Don’t expect to be perfect right off the bat!
Remember, you can always do some lessons on the weekend or even on lesser school holidays that you would rather just keep school going.
But be sure to keep in touch with your child’s teacher, especially if you need some tips or are having trouble getting it all done.
And take advantage of synchronous classes to help with daily instruction, especially if your child is a little older - these daily lessons in math and literature can be a big help to keeping the learning going and keeping your child motivated!
