Opening a wooden urn is a simple task. With the proper tools it should be a straight-forward process. On the underside of the urn there should be four screws that secure the base to the urn. To access the interior of the urn simply remove the four screws, making sure to mark the base to indicate where the screw holes line up. As each urn is made individually the you could strip out a screw if you inadvertently flip the base and reinstall it in a position it wasn't originally in.
