This is a video I hammered out for a proposed topic at the upcoming SXSW. I could have just put up a PowerPoint with voice over, but felt like my topic deserved more.
More on the topic of my research: Decreasing sedentary time in jobs that require workers to primarily make use of computers has started to become a public and preventative health concern. However, the interventions to increase caloric consumption and increase daily activity have generally relied on lifestyle changes outside of employees’ work places. Gesture input technology can potentially unchain the computer worker from the desk and provide health benefits without creating time and cost burdens on either employee or employer.
