How can anyone afford the time and cost of a personal project? How can a photographer really make a difference in the world?
One week after picking up a video camera for the first time, my wife and I accidentally created a feature-length documentary film. Now it's helping change the lives of children in Guatemala's post-civil war slums. The film project (lostboysofparadise.com) demonstrates just how affordable -- even profitable -- personal charity can be for a studio.
Now we want to inspire more photographers to leverage the superpower of visual media to change the world.. and energize their businesses. Having spoken at WPPI's "I Want 10" platform in early 2013 and begun a series of articles on the subject for Shutter Magazine, we're excited to bring this fresh perspective to Photographers IGNITE!
