16. Enterprise-Enable Dynamic PHP, Ruby, Python Apps: …
2 years ago
How do you make sense of the dynamic languages (PHP, Ruby, Python) and the ecosystem of useful Web applications around them? Who is going to ensure that these applications scale and provide enterprise security/governance? This session shows you the ins and outs of surfacing dynamic applications written in PHP, Ruby, and Python by using Oracle WebCenter Interaction, which provides caching, error-handling, security/governance, and auditing to apps that may not be ready to handle the demands of the enterprise out of the box. The presentation walks through creating a real-world mashup of a handful of free, open source applications written in PHP, Ruby, and Python—all facilitated by Oracle WebCenter Interaction.

    This was very informative!
Will there be a sequel of newer ideas for WCI?

WCI is being folded into WebCenter "proper" in the next release which will be an amalgam of WebLogic Portal, the WSRP Producer (formerly the .NET Application Accelerator) and the Pagelet Producer (formerly Ensemble). Couple that with WC Suite and Services and you'll have a ton of great functionality plus the ability to integration Java, .NET and scripting-based language applications in your enterprise portal.
