A viral commercial shot on my 5D mk 2 for Sydney based Jewellery designer "Samantha Wills". Sebastian Guy Directing. It's straight out of the camera ungraded.

The cinematography and direction is excellent, well done.
Great shot of the girl in the car at 0:46 and at 1:03 in front of the Sydney Opera House.

p.s. How did you achieve the effect, looks like a 2x extender going in and out? I dig it.
Can I ask what lens was used?
Oh, and what song is that? Its lovely!

Shot on Canon 24- 70mm 2.8 and 70-200mm 2.8. 1080 30 p. It's totally untouched (as is out of the camera) as this is the cut that the director made up him self the evening after we finished shooting. The look that a lot of you are talking about is achieved by getting hold of a set of diopters (4 1/2 " round or 138mm) and holding them in front of the lens. The best results are often found on a longer lens eg 100- 200mm with a no# 1/2 or #1,#2 held just in front of the front element tilted at an angle. A cheap way would be to use any glass object or magnifying glass...however the household magnifying glass is often too strong.
This is only the second job I've shot on my camera which I have aptly named "Mickey 5D" I learnt a lot during...especially that it takes best to being on a steadycam or tripod. Which you can see in the first beach scene where it was hand held. (too much coffee look)

You wouldn't want to go out and buy a set of diopters unless you were constantly able to hire them back to the prod companies that you work for. I don't own any either as they are (as for all camera equipment) WAY to expensive to buy if only used every now and again. However I am finding that they are constantly in my kit of gear to hire before I do a job.
What I did was hire a set (#1/2 through to #4) from panavision or what ever local hire company is near you. You'll just have to open an account. You should be able to get a set for around $50 a day I think.
As for which one works best.. It all depends on how close you have your focus set and what length lens you are on. The longer the lens and the closer the focus needs a stronger diopter eg #3 or #4.
So if you can have a look on the web and check availabilty for a set so that you can have a play next time you go out.
I often get my assistant to hold the diopter as I am busy operating etc. It Def works best when on a tripod as it's rather tricky keeping it in focus... especially before you get a feel for it.
Also it doesn't always work best sitting right on the front element...often you'll find it's a good 1 -2 feet away especially on a 200mm etc.
