Thousands of pilgrims flocked the streets of Rio de Janeiro on Saturday as Pope Francis' historic visit to Brazil is nearing its end.
Police closed main roads and arteries as crowds of Catholics walked more than 10 kilometres to reach Copacabana beach, the site where Francis will preside over an evening vigil service that is expected to draw more than 1 (m) million young people.
Many will camp and congregate on the white sands of Copacabana looking forward to grow on their faith.
