Canon 7D Night shots. Iso 3200 & 6400. A small fight choreography also included. I am extremely impressed by this camera. ISO 6400 is noisy (as expected) but ISO 3200 is very usable. The only lights here are the streetlamps. It was very dark.

Very professionally done! Nice test for high iso too. Thanks for posting and pushing what this new camera can do.

Ha ha...looked very good. Loved the added sound effects (unless of course they were real).

As we say here in the UK, that was SWEET! A nice demo of the 7d that didn't involve flowers or landscapes or cars ;). And I LOVE the snappy fight choreography, very hong kong style...I just wish I had friends who were this skilled! Great video and good cast!

this was truly one of the best fight scenes that I have seen before... the low light makes it feel incredibly real, even though it's kind of that "hong kong style" (which is usually kind of over-the-top) as Son of Sizemore said.

Brian: That's it. It was just a low light test :) Don't worry, we'll make something real too.

My comment was meant to be all praise, if it sounded like I was complaining, I apologise. I enjoyed your video because it wasn't some lame test of shooting flowers or racking focus between two static actors. Really, great work!

Interesting, but I see you chose to keep the camera fairly still. The jello would stop me wanting to shoot an action scene with the 7d, i like more frantic cameras. The low light is capabilities are impressive though.

Actually just watched The Laser Rats and was OK with the level of rolling shutter in that. Is the 5d better in that regard or worse?
  • Mikko Löppönen 1 month ago
The 5d/7d seem to have the exact same amount of rolling shutter. Though the 7d in 720p has almost no rolling shutter at all. Shame that has a lot more aliasing in that mode too.
