On July 15, 2013 I had a double stroke at 11:30 am, while getting Monday started. The stroke had nothing to do with plaque or cholesterol or easily managed conditions. It had everything to do with heavy metal poisoning and the resultant health complications including atrial fibrillation along with some other health challenges.
This video's purpose is to update my friends and family who haven't been able to see me in person and are concerned. I'm OK but have a long way to go and I hope for an almost 100% recovery, which is possible according to the doctors.
I want to take this moment to thank the many people who have wished me the best and been concerned, sympathetic and upbeat. Special thanks to my wife, Donna, who has been through the wringer with this and has never left my side including 2 stays in the hospital and tough sleeping conditions. She finally got sick from the stress and conditions but continues to nurse me to better health.
My daughter, Kathleen, and grand-daughters Hannah and Gracie, have spent tons of time in the ER, hospital and my home. They have endured my tears of frustration and helped me physically, mentally and emotionally through what has been the hardest time in my life and the battle is just joined.
I hope this video and planned website can also help other people who have had their lives changed in only a few seconds. This is the second time we had that happen, previously we were in a bad accident about 12 years ago that required Donna to have 5 surgeries and to learn to walk again, while her less injured mate tried to take half as good care of her as she is taking of me. I guess there is truth to the saying "What goes around, comes around."
My best to you and your families and friends. Mark Ellins Crescent Beach, St. Augustine, Florida
