Do they provide a manual or any other help on how to do it ?
  • Icke84 plus 2 years ago
yes, there is a short manual

    a short excerpt:
cam will not stay upright - my be top heavy, add on extra weight
cam sways from side to side - may be bottom heavy, remove a weight
cam points up oder down - adjust the cam along the camera platform
cam leans to one side - adjust the weight platform slightly until the cam remains upright

... using the stabilizer ... usw one finger on you other hand to control the direction of teh camcorder by very gently controlling the ball socket...

    i think its enough :D

Seeing you balancing on meta trialbike and now balancing your cam on this chosen MMC means a lot! I'm so tempted! Either this or the Steadicam that costs about 10x more... Have you tried the Steadicam?

would you possibly know anywhere i could buy this in the U.S.?
  • Josh, everyone's buying them straight from the UK. It's $150+ after shipping, but people at hv20.com are loving them. One guy makes a replica and sells it on ebay, but I think that his footage looks awful.

dude need help man...amd struggling with the steady cam...cannnot keep it steady....how do you decide the number of weights
  • Icke84 plus 1 year ago
do you read the manual? ;)

cam will not stay upright - my be top heavy, add on extra weight
cam sways from side to side - may be bottom heavy, remove a weight
cam points up oder down - adjust the cam along the camera platform
cam leans to one side - adjust the weight platform slightly until the cam remains upright

do you use the hv20 with or without an wideangle lens? if without, it's hard to find the perfect weights, because the cam is so sideheavy. the bottom plate from mmc helps.
