Blender 2.5 vs 2.49b render comparison
Quick comparison between the rendering speed of current (2.49b) and upcoming (2.5) Blender versions.
The new Blender 2.5 brings tons of new things, including an optimized internal renderer (this work made by the user known as Jaguarandi).
Notice that 2.5 on this test (while recording everything in HD) was more than twice as fast as 2.49b! :)
The test scene used was the well known Blender Render Benchmark available at: eofw.org/bench/

Just to make it fair though, on which thread did you run your screen recorder ?
Still I did a similar test the other day and the difference was more than 50 % so ... :p
Well... I've made the parallel rendering test before I decided to record it. I was so amazed with the results (which were basically the same - it only took longer for both to finish) that I decided to record it and upload here.
i cant i cant... i cant stand loosin...
goin to download build now :)
