Every one of our lives sends a message. That message, whether it be subtle or overt, tell everyone what’s really important to us, what we value most highly, what we are most interested in and invested in. Your life and my life is a message and we get to choose our message. My life might completely revolve around politics and the political messages I send. So you are sending the message that politics is what you are most invested and interested in. My life might revolve around parties and having fun, so I’m sending the message that I’m most invested and interested in personal pleasure. But what message is the life of a true disciple of Jesus supposed to send? In fact, would someone recognize a true disciple of Jesus in our world? What would a true disciple of Jesus be so invested and interested in that it is patently clear that they really are a Jesus follower?
