Evan Kovacs, DP with the Advanced Imaging and Visualization Lab at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and Owner of Marine Imaging Technologies, offers a rare look at filming underwater and around the world using the latest camera developments and shooting techniques – including 3D and 2D video. You’ll learn what it’s like to direct Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) and Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs), that were used to generate the first-ever archaeological site map of the Titanic in 3D and 2D video. Evan will also cover his seven year collaboration with AIVL to design, build and shoot numerous stereoscopic imaging systems for use with museums, archaeologists, and institutions around the world both above and below the water.
