A farming village of 4,000 people east of the city of Larkana in Pakistan's southern province of Sindh. Like so many other rural dwellings-- shunned, ignored and forgotten. Khairo Dero is thought to go back centuries. Founded by Khairo Muhammad, a fabled ruler of his time. Today, most of the village residents make a living as farm workers, earning less than a dollar a day. Suffering from abject poverty and a lack of the most basic amenities.
