Maya Abernathy is a Chattanooga mom whose son Dayvon attends a local Sack Pack school. Maya's disability has meant telling her children "no" more often than she would like, and the Sack Pack program has given her one less thing to worry about. Listen to her message of "thanks" as she speaks for her family and on behalf of her community of parents and children who benefit from the program.
Sack Pack is a program of the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. It provides more than 2,100 individual sacks of weekend food each Friday to area children at 24 participating schools during the school year. The program has been adopted by many local organizations and sponsors as well, expanding the reach to several more thousand children each week. Contact the Chattanooga Area Food Bank at (423) 622-1800 to learn how you can sponsor a school, child, or classroom.
