The sunsets in Arizona are often awe-inspiring and this evening it was especially majestic. The depth of colors and diversity of the high Sonoran desert near Cave Creek Arizona are equally majestic. Put the two together, and in my opinion it just may be proof there is a higher power... regardless of what you may feel that power is.

In any case, it was truly beautiful and I hope you enjoy this glance at my corner of the world...

Recorded on a DJI Phantom Quad-copter.

This is my third recorded flight, filmed with a Hero 3 mounted to an anti-vibration mount (not a gimbal, which I may get eventually).

I used Final Cut Pro (FCP) to analyze the video for shake and vibration. Still very much novice at the FCP, so I exported the smoothed out video and used iMovie '11 to assemble and edit the final product.

Still much to learn. Definitely some "Jello" in parts, but I see there is a correlation between Jello, and the amount of movement I'm transmitting to the aircraft. Climbing or descending at high speeds causes the most jello by far.

I still think it turns out pretty damned incredible considering for less than $1000 I just captured, processed, and produced an aerial video of "near" cinematic quality...
