Governor Sean Parnell addresses a full house October 21 at the annual Alaska Federation of Natives Convention in Anchorage. The Governor called for a unified prevention and enforcement effort to end domestic violence and sexual abuse in Alaska. He called on every Alaskan to speak up about domestic violence, and vowed to spread the message that “domestic violence and sexual assault are unacceptable.” He also called for a substantial increase in law enforcement in rural Alaska, and asked the delegates to help the state find qualified applicants for vacant Village Public Safety Officer positions.
