On Thursday October 22, 2009, the Southwestern University environmental organization Students for Environmental Activism and Knowledge (SEAK) held a press conference at the Georgetown courthouse opposing the new CPS energy plan that proposes to build two nuclear power plants around the area of San Antonio and provide energy to the cities of San Antonio and Georgetown, among others. 25 students and Georgetown community members attended, demanding the need for public transparency in this energy policy and explaining the dangers to the environment and to the financial well-being of San Antonio and Georgetown citizens should this proposal go forward.
