A city of over 200,000 La Ceiba, the capital of Atlantida, is the fourth largest city in Honduras. 1Nation1Day sent a team of 159 U.S. missionaries and medical professionals from Cornerstone Church Highland in Highland, MI to La Ceiba from July 14-21. Pastor Tim and Rhonda Forsthoff along with their U.S. Project Directors Susan Cone and Rachael Kelly, worked tirelessly to recruit the largest team from any single organization within the entire 1Nation1Day project.
On the ground in Honduras, Pastor Saul Meija and Jorge Dubon worked together to draw the attention of their state to the 1Nation1Day events. Reina Zuniga filled all 5 teams schedules with schools and ministry sites that spanned across all of Atlantida. This team shared the message of La Nueva Honduras in 75 schools and personally reached 21,499 students and teachers. Partnered with a team of over 100 translators and volunteers, the team also handed out food and shoes to an estimated 21,931 people.
Dr. Gary Veraghen recruited and trained 36 medical and dental professionals who cared for 1,303 Hondurans in need of treatment throughout the week.
On July 20, Atlantida's State Directors Pastor Saul Meija and Jorge Dubon and their team filled Estadio Municipal Ceibeno with 35,000 people. Pastor Tim Forsthoff shared the gospel and thousands came forward for salvation and prayer. In total, the Atlantida team led by were face to face with an astounding 81,683 people.
