I'm sorry for the repeated scenes and I'm sure your all getting a bit sick of seeing the same shots but I promise this will be the last post for this trip.

It basically takes in the whole Kimberley Wilderness Journey from Wyndham to Broome. It does include some new footage closer to the middle of this production. Enjoy the journey and get on board it's a must do.

We may have seen quite a bit of it before but it still floors me. So many beautiful shots in here it almost brings tears to my eyes. I love and miss Kimberley. Been there 3 times. Wanna live there some day!

There are quite a few steady movement shots, how do you stabilize the 5D, some sort of steadycam rig or?

It's my wife and my plan to do the 6 months Broome 6 months Dunsborough thing one day. I feel at home when I go there and Broome is a great staging post for many adventures into the Kimberley. Thanks for watching Flemmo.

I didn't use a steady cam but did use a monopod a fair bit which works really well. The chopper stuff was done by sticking the monopod into the cushion of the chopper and sticking it out the window. You can see me in action in some of the shots in the front of the chopper. I finished off the process using the Smoothcam filter in FCP. Works a treat.

Sounds like a good plan - half a year down south half a year in Broome. I feel completely at home in Broome too, could definitely see myself ending up there for an extended time!

Well, worth the wait! Knew you would do it again! If you keep this up we won't need to take the cruise...I feel I've taken it with this video. Wonderfully, moving:)! My only reservation is the croc!
  • Michael Fletcher plus 1 month ago
The croc's are friendly over here. You can even pat them:)

My video is no substitute for the real thing. You want to book on board before the Aussie dollar is worth more than the greenback.

Thanks for the kind words again Jenn.

Hello Mate - absolutely stunning video. Makes me want to go back for another visit to Australia, this time just to see Western part of the country.

As for the video, just a few technical questions. Looking the video quality of DSLR 5D mk2, how would it compare with a 1080p digital Camcorder, such as Canon's HF S11; features like low light, FPS, etc. I am debating just to get the the 5D or get a digital camcorder as well.

p.s. I know it is a lot to lug around, but we travel frequently and memories are for a lifetime.

    Cheers!

Hi Addi. Western Australia I believe has some of the most spectacular scenery in Australia. It is also the most remote which adds to the intrigue of the place. The Kimberley is mind blowingly awesome. You have to see it to believe it.

I cant comment on quality differences from the 5D to other camcorders but I did own a Canon XHA1 but sold it as the 5D killed it for image quality. End of story.

The 5D is a special camera and should be on everyones wish list.

Stunning stuff , some of the very best 5D work I have seen ,congrats boys , kickin ass and Takin names ....LOVE IT!!!!

Are you guys smoothcamin your arials???
  • Michael Fletcher plus 30 days ago
Cheers Brett. Yep the old smoothcam filter in FCP 7 is getting a real hammering. Does cause some issues though so you have to be selective on what clips you use.

    How did NY go?
