I was challenged to create a film and fully working sculpture for Sony using 100 Sony Xperia Z smart phones. Not only tasked with creating a concept that challenged and pushed the technology of the smart phone, but at the same time I wanted to create a fully working installation that could potentially be placed in a museum or space and used by the public to create their own shoots. A collaborative effort with the incredibly talented Hirsch & Mann and featuring Christopher Raeburns SS14 collection, we set out to create a short film that crosses the boundaries of art, fashion and technology exploring the process of photography and film creation utilising custom software, bespoke apps and a wireless control system around a sculptural spiral catwalk. – a hybrid blend of analogue, digital and in-camera techniques to create the World’s first spiralled bullet time sculpture entirely from smart phones.
