The Quicksteps first took the field in 1994. Clad in 1860-style uniforms and using authentic reproductions of 1860 equipment, the Quicksteps have played over 180 matches in 18 seasons in five states. The Quicksteps show base ball (two words) as it was played in the milestone year of 1860, when a uniform code of rules and practices was first in use and when play had spread throughout the nation.
For the second year, CTV North Suburbs partnered with the Hill Farm Historical Society to shoot the event on location in North Oaks, MN. Post-production was added to tighten the live-to-tape program, but also to stylize the video, and add a sepia coloration. A special memorial sequence was added at the end of the program paying homage to the groups long-time Umpire nicknamed, "The Judge." Note: the Announcer and Umpire both had microphones on throughout the game. Enjoy!
