KHAAN QUEST 2009 TOOK PLACE FROM AUGUST 9TH TO THE 26TH OF 2009 AT FIVE HILLS TRAINING AREA IN TAVAN TOLGOI, MONGOLIA.

KHAAN QUEST 2009 IS SPONSORED BY THE MONGOLIAN ARMED FORCES AND UNITED STATES PACIFIC COMMAND.

MILITARY REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE U.S. MILITARY, MONGOLIAN ARMED FORCES AND 180 OTHER INTERNATIONAL MILITARIES CAME TOGETHER IN SUPPORT OF A MULTINATIONAL PEACE SUPPORT OPERATION EXERCISE.

THE GOAL OF THIS EXERCISE IS TO INCREASE PEACE SUPPORT OPERATIONS CORE COMPETENCIES AS WELL AS STRENGTHEN CAPABILITIES OF THESE INTERNATIONAL FORCES WORLDWIDE. THE EXERCISE CONSISTS OF -- A UNITED NATIONS PEACE KEEPING SEMINAR -- A COMMAND POST EXERSISE – A FIELD TRAINING EXERCISE – A HUMANITARIAN CIVIC ACTIVIY – AND A MEDICAL READINESS EXERSISE.
