Propeller Test
Thrust test from a propeller.
Where did I find 50# to weight down the scale with? That'd be my anvil.
The motor is attached to one end of a pivot, the anvil to the other. The motor tries to lift the anvil, reducing the weight shown on the scale by a ratio to its actual thrust. In this case, 0.66 -- so the 2# maximum shown is actually only 1.3# of thrust.
I'm not so sure how accurate this test is-- if you listen, you can hear the motor kind of "pulsing" -- I was having some troubles with the servo signal, but this is a pretty good "dull dart" guess.
