Ocean not our home. We bob around on the surface: it's a mystery, and therefore a metaphor for God. Isaac Newton as a child on the ocean shore: most of the depths are beyond him. God beyond understanding and control. Jewish people feared oceans and chaos: Spirit brings order at creation. Fear of God. Ocean also refreshing, calming, as is God. Oceans also exist in and of themselves, as a home to countless creatures. Neighbours in the ocean. We must leave them the ability to live with God in their Way. How do we decide how to share the oceans resources? We tend to only think about the "economy" and human need. Reconciliation and Renewal of the Whole Creation.
Terrible edit at 2 mins- whoops!
I'd wanted to make this a longer reflection, but as it is it introduces some useful ideas in a few minutes, which you could then elaborate on live. Similar ideas to the two minute version also on this site.
