Hi. I’m Maria Kaylor. I’m an Assistant Professor of Special Education at the University of Texas
at San Antonio. Welcome to part three of the Career and Technical Education Training and
Resource Center’s module on Accommodations and Modifications in CTE classroom instruction.
The purpose of this module is to assist CTE teachers as they participate in the educational
process of students with disabilities. This module will showcase best practices in planning and
preparing for an ARD meeting. CTE teachers will learn how to participate in the IEP process
including writing goals for students with disabilities in the CTE field through collaboration. The
module will also demonstrate effective accommodations and modifications that can be used in
traditional and non-traditional CTE settings with students who have learning disabilities or
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
