There's just something about multi-day weddings that's hard to resist. Everyone gets multiple costume changes, and in Fatima & Shahzad's case, we had venue changes too, with the first two days at Boston's Seaport Hotel, and the third, the Walima, at the Rockleigh country club in northern New Jersey.
And although some of the customs were similar to those we'd seen at the Indian weddings we'd shot before (like the baraat, which is always the most fun you can have as a wedding filmmaker), Pakistani weddings are definitely a whole different kettle of fish, and each of the three days felt like a wonderful exploration of new cultural territory.
The Seaport was, as ever, a delight to shoot in, and the trip down to NJ meant Megan and I got to play two rounds of miniature golf within 5 hours on the drive back (both before noon). Did I mention that Matt & Enna Grazier were the photographers? And, as ever, they were incredible to work with across all three days. Check out their stunning photos from day 1 (grazierphotoblog.com/2013/07/fatima-and-shahzad-boston-wedding-photography-part-1/), day 2 (grazierphotoblog.com/2013/07/fatima-and-shahzad-boston-wedding-photography-day-two/) and day 3 (grazierphotoblog.com/2013/07/fatima-and-shahzad-walima-photography-new-jersey-wedding-photography-rockleigh-wedding-photography/).
Congratulations to Fatima & Shahzad.
