For our Advanced Counseling II Class at Southwestern College, each student is asked to run the class as a group therapy session. This session was facilitated by Jill Campoli. Participants are: Chelsea Rae Treiber, Momo Lancaster, Eliza Combs, Dominique Pozo, Nicole Morgan and Megan Sturges. The class was lead outside and each person sat or laid on the ground. They were guided through a visualization in which each person imagined their body creating roots into the earth, as well as sprouts growing up towards the sky. The art directive given was for each person to personally depict their vision of growth that emerged from the guided meditation. This stop motion movie was created to document the process of group collaboration. To conclude our group, we sat around the piece and each shared our experience of the process as well as imagery that emerged through the painting.
