Smooth stuff, Delrious. I am anxious to get to that great angle above the Bay Bridge!

After going there again, I see what you meant about no place to pull out - there's actually two spots. There's one directly above the tunnel - with some no parking signs - another above that with a pull out that has no signs (which is where I shoot from).

Thanks for the info! I guess I can always hike up from Treasure Island, but given my advanced age would prefer to park as close as possible!

GL getting over there now... I was there when they shut down the bridge - got a time lapse of the bridge slowly being cleared...it's actually quite borin' the SF side is much more interesting.

Another great one, incredible shooting once again.

Love it, love it man. Where do you get your music? I searched for Geert Veneklaas on both eMusic and iTunes and it's nowhere to be found.

Amazing stuff. Love the sunset behind the skyscrapers. How do you do your day-to-night lapses ? AV or do you just start overexposed to underexposed ?
  • Delrious plus 2 years ago
There are no true day to night shots in this reel. All of them were manual mode with a fixed exposure/aperture.

I did do a few day-to-nights in "Another Cloud Reel" and "Day To Night" using a DIY intervalometer which could ramp the shutter time using bulb mode, but since then, my DIY intervalometer has bit the dust and I'm too busy shooting to make it work again. I prefer to do short shots anyways - keeps me on my toes and requires less patience. Those day-to-nights were hit or miss and took a very long time to get one sequence.

A good example of the trade off is the clip above. I did all of those shots in one night in the same amount of time that it would have taken me to do one day-to-night.

Looked nice man. I find it interesting your choice in color temp at night to give the city that golden glow. I use to do that more but lately I have been trying to keep somewhat cooler temps in my stuff. But the nice thing about shooting RAW is that I can always go back and make the images warmer if need be.
  • Delrious plus 2 years ago
I often process at a cooler temp and even go in and pull out the reds via the color balance effect in AE...but I really liked how golden the city looked that evening and decided to roll with it.
  • Andrew Walker plus 2 years ago
Good thing you went with it because it really works. I think its cool that the sodium-vapor lights give the city that color. But I have been noticing they city of LA changing out their lights to cooler temp LEDs. That's why the 6th street bridge shot I did in my first reel and the shot of the same bridge looks different in my 4th reel I posted.

But I until the majority of the lights are changed I still think the cities will look the same. Plus like I said before, the temp can be changed quite a bit in the RAW files. But if that light isn't there then it wouldn't look the same. Even with the adjustment.

Hi, Great videos. I have a question and I didn't see anyone ask in the comments. What rate are you taking the photos, every 2 seconds, 5 seconds, etc.

I specifically would like to know about the clouds that are going right to left at about 24 seconds.

    Thanks
