Valley Wildlife Care is currently attempting the capture of a very sick coyote. She has been roaming the Laurel Canyon neighborhood in Los Angeles, California for more than 5 months. She is suffering from Sarcoptic Mange, secondary infection, and immune deficiency disorder.
Generally we do not provide a trapping service due to time and expense involved. Once we saw her picture we knew something must be done. It takes an extraordinary amount of resources to attempt this capture. The traps and bait cost us $90 a week alone and that is just a small portion of the expenses.
Our volunteers and Veterinarian comb the area every week in hopes of a sighting. Our Veterinarian carries a dart gun. Last week we found her and sadly, our veterinarian was not present that day.
Aside from the traps we are monitoring daily, our next search for her is Sunday November 7th. Our Veterinarian and one of our volunteers who is an LAPD officer will be there and attempt to dart her.
Please consider making a donation to our "L.A. Coyote fund" to help us bring this animal into care. Just go to valleywildlifecare.org You will receive updates on our progress and you will be notified when we finally get her.
