This video accompanies my review of the affordable indiSLIDERmini portable slider for videographers and cinematographers.

The indiSLIDERmini is a 24" dolly track designed to mount to your tripod legs or tripod head. A quick release 'puck' makes it easy to attach or remove your camera from the slider.

Philip, it's a good low cost, portable option. I find that it slides best when the center of gravity is low. When using it with a taller tripod head it becomes even more important to keep the center of gravity over the slider - and to keep the slide hand on the base of the slider head in order to get a smooth slide.

Great review Ron. I'm thinking about getting this as well but wonder how it would work on my Panasonic hvx200 which is heavier than my 5D.

Hi Eric, If it's just the HVX200 you shouldn't have a problem. The key to success with the indiSLIDERmini is to tighten the tolerances of the carriage once you get it. It seems to be a little loose upon arrival, which causes a little bit of wobble in the head. Then it's important to keep weight centered over the carriage. If the camera is a bit front heavy, you can put opposite pressure on the slide carriage as you slide it. It's important to keep in mind that this isn't the quality of a $400 slider for $99, but it does work very well as long as you understand some basic workarounds.
